Reflection - Website

I figured I should probably reflect on my experiences with website designing while I'm at the whole blogging thing, right? The whole idea of creating my own website was foreign to me. I decided to make my website like a portfolio for the time being. I hope I can change it and eventually use it as a resource for my future students and their families.

I was completely lost when I first started this project. By the time I finished watching the tutorials and completed my wireframe, however, I felt a little more informed. I got started on Google Sites and I just went for it.

I'm a fan of consistency so all of my pages looked the same: layout, font, resources, etc. I wanted to make a website that was easy to navigate and pleasing to the eye. Creating a website wasn't nearly as difficult as I was expecting. It took a very short amount of time to get it the way I wanted it to look. I would probably give myself a little more time for research before diving right in if I had to redo this project. I watched the videos provided but I still felt like I was in a little over my head. That didn't stop me though. Once I started, I just kept going. It became more enjoyable and less like an assignment by the end.

The only bump in the road that I hit was with some of the formatting. I wasn't able to have links to go to the next page or some other minor things like that. I dealt with it and managed to make a decent looking website. Hopefully it does it's job and can benefit me later on, too!
